“Get on your feet. Rise.
Get out in the street. Stand”

Dyan Valdés wanted backing dance for the live show of her first solo album “Stand”. Dyan performs with backing tracks and no musicians and the dance needed to support her with a visually dynamic background. Dyan’s music is rich in pop references. It was important for me to do justice to each song’s unique vibe and the choreographies are as varied as the album. I used a floorgrid to create different relationships between us. Sometimes I am her sister-in-arms, sometimes I am her shadow, sometimes we are one.

31.03.22 – Album-release concert at Schokoladen, Berlin.
07.11.22 – Opening band for Franz Ferdinand at Verti Music Hall, Berlin.
08.03.23 – International Women’s Day. Opening Band for Die Sterne at Festsaal Kreuzberg, Berlin.

The choreographies for “Stand” were created in residence at the dance school EDUANDANZA in Málaga, Spain.
